“Just like me, they long to see you on your knees”

Song: A Song For Ellie Greenwich
Artist: Parenthetical Girls
Album: Entanglements

Best Performance by a Band in a Music Video. ABBA referencing and lovable dorkiness abound. Special mention to the percussionist seemingly having trouble with his cymbal-with-bites-taken-out-of-it, and to Rachael playing music director with her violin bow and just looking lovely in general. I didn’t know yellow and brown could go together, hm. Now I have to go back and check out her other dresses again.

Below, a live performance of the song in public in Austria. There’s something utterly charming about a band no one’s heard of performing new songs out in public. In a foreign country. Reminds me quite fondly of Marit Larsen debuting “If a Song Could Get Me You” alternately on a train, subway escalator, and at a produce stand. (Guess what’ll be coming soon?)
